An ISP gets payed to connect you to the web, beyond that, they have very little control and no guarantee of profit. I can use that connection to access any content. On TV, they control all of the content and make all of the money from it. They want to maintain that monopoly. Sure, they take a piece of the internet pie, but all they can get is a piece, what they want is the whole thing.
It is stupid how the news seems to be nearly totally consumed with fluff in America in England like it 10%-5% fluff if you watch the BBC but even if you watch the privet channels there only 20-30% fluff.
Guys this is why you need to fund PBS more and give it enough money to cover stuff well because then they don’t have to worry about ratings on news broadcasts which factual news doesn’t bring the masses like fluff news, but atleast you know you have a factual service when you need it.

Whenever I watch CNN it’s painful. If a hurricane is coming, CNN suddenly turns into The Weather Channel and there goes a whole news cycle. Something happens with the royal family, they become a celebrity gossip channel. MSNBC is a little better but their weekend marathons of prison shows has to stop. So on the weekends I watch Fox News, as bad as it is. Competition is great.
